Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Click-through rate, or CTR, is a metric used to assess the effectiveness of online content, particularly advertising. It tells you the percentage of people who see something clickable, like an ad or a link in an email, and actually click on it.
Imagine you put up a flyer with 100 views and 5 clicks. That would be a 5% CTR. A higher CTR generally indicates the content is successful at grabbing attention and prompting viewers to take the next step.
Click-Through Rate Formula
CTR = Clicks / Impressions x 100
Here's what each part means:
Clicks: The total number of times people clicked on your ad, link, or other clickable element.
Impressions: The total number of times your ad, link, or clickable element was shown to viewers.
By dividing clicks by impressions and multiplying by 100, you get the CTR as a percentage. This tells you what proportion of people exposed to your clickable content actually interacted with it.
